Job Details

  • Understand the nuances of Insurance coverage for surgical procedures with the goal to identify the most insurance coverage available for the patient
  • Assist the patient to understand their financial responsibility, identify payment resources and options
  • Assist patients in applying for financial assistance if needed
  • Participate in office support: front desk registration, chart prep, medical records, answering phones, etc. as needed
  • Learn and help in new areas of the business office – requires dedication to work & proactive attitude.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of experience in ASC verification is a requirement!
  • Bilingual Spanish
  • Must have EPIC, HST and/or Clariti experience.
  • Surgical or hospital experience highly desired
  • High attention to detail and an ability to explain details and options in a calm easy-to-understand manner
  • Computer proficiency with Windows programs and an ability to quickly pick up new programs
  • Excellent follow-through; Good verbal/phone & analytical skills, professional, reliable, & good attendance.

Schedule and Compensation

  • Participate in practice & product marketing.
  • Speak to and meet with all new patients, explaining procedures & answering questions: be a liaison between surgeon and patient.
  • Handle scheduling & rapport-building with patients from the initial phone call through surgery completion.
  • Customize the care plan for each patient & manage the consultation process.
  • Responsible for creating weekly/monthly benchmark reports, as well as meeting monthly, quarterly, and annual goals.

Requirements:

Front Office:

  • Assist parents with records requests, details for the appointment and other patient-oriented tasks

Back Office:

  • Room patients, take and record vitals, update patient medical history, identify parent questions and reason for visit
  • Pay attention for patient signs that may point to potential issues so as to advise the doctor prior to the doctor's arrival in the room
  • Providing reassurance and comfort for parents and children, handling difficult procedures with skill, care and compassion for what the patient and parent are experiencing at the time

Requirements:

  • 3+ years' experience working in a medical private practice handling both Front Office and Medical Assisting duties
  • Able to work in a busy and noisy atmosphere!
  • Must like working with children and able to manage situations with the patients and parents during challenging moments
  • Ideal candidates have some pediatrics experience
  • Ability to remain calm when patients and parents are challenging
