Handling authorizations, preparing and pulling charts, coping medical records.

Handle mail, faxes filing and ensure patient correspondence is handled in a timely manner.

There are many aspects of this position - not just "Front Office" so must be open to variety in your work

Requirements:

Willingness and ability to cover rotating weekends taking a day off mid-week

Experience with women's health

Computer literate able to pick up a new EMR with minimum guidance

Mindset toward providing excellent patient care, answering questions, providing details about procedures so patients know what to expect. .

Ability to problem solve, think on your feet, take initiative.

Must have the ability and confidence to consult w/patients about treatment and costs once insurance informaton is determined

Professional speech and appearance - this is a more conservative workplace atmosphere.

Schedule and Benefits:

M-F 8:30-5:30pm with rotating weekends ever 5 weeks (Saturday 7:30a-11:30a and Sunday 7:30a-11:30a taking a day off mid-week)

Front Office:

Back Office:

  • Room patients, take and record vitals, update patient medical history, identify parent questions and reason for visit
  • Pay attention for patient signs that may point to potential issues so as to advise the doctor prior to the doctor's arrival in the room
  • Providing reassurance and comfort for parents and children, handling difficult procedures with skill, care and compassion for what the patient and parent are experiencing at the time

Requirements:

  • 3+ years' experience working in a medical private practice handling both Front Office and Medical Assisting duties
  • Able to work in a busy and noisy atmosphere!
  • Must like working with children and able to manage situations with the patients and parents during challenging moments
  • Ideal candidates have some pediatrics experience
  • Ability to remain calm when patients and parents are challenging
  • Be attuned to patients who need a little extra information and attention and ensure they get what will ease the situation
  • Skilled in making and confirming appointments, collecting co-payments, assisting with medical records requests
  • Have a high attention to details and ability to focus on tasks during very busy schedules
