(Job #2238) PART TIME - NURSE ANESTHETIST for West LA medical practice (one day per month):

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Administer the appropriate anesthetic medications for conscious sedation to patients of various age groups including: neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, and adults in accordance with specialty standards of care.
  • Monitor vital signs, airway management, maintenance of fluid balance, response to emergencies related to airway management and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

EXPERIENCE AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Graduate of an educational program in Nurse Anesthesia accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs and Schools
  • Current CA RN license
  • Current CA Nurse Anesthetist Certification
  • PALS (American Heart Association)
  • BLS (American Heart Association)


SCHEDULE and COMPENSATION

  • One day per month – likely a Tuesday or Wednesday. This schedule will be coordinated in consideration of the worker’s availability.

ABOUT THE POSITION

  • Under the supervision of the Nursing Director, the Registered Nurse will provide culturally competent medical health services to low-income individuals in Los Angeles County, with a specific focus on the LGBT community.
  • The Registered Nurse will assure quality and cost-effective care for clinic patients, and will manage a patient's course of treatment, and coordinate care with providers and other clinical support staff to ensure quality patient outcomes are achieved within established time frames with efficient utilization of resources.
  • In addition, the Registered Nurse will work closely with the Medical Director and Nursing Supervisor to design, implement and monitor workflow processes throughout all sites as it pertains to patient centered medical home (PCMH) implementation.
  • This position is primarily clinical.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Provide clinical support to medical providers before and after primary care visits so as to ensure the timely delivery of quality medical care.
  • Treat patients diagnosed with sexually transmitted infections (STIs) in a timely manner and according to the company's clinical STI treatment guidelines.
  • Administer vaccines to patients per clinical guidelines.
  • Provide appropriately document health education to patients.
  • Assist front office staff in making appropriate arrangements for patients, and serve as back up for the front and back office when needed.
  • Assist in the clinic transformation to a patient centered medical home (PCMH), in conjunction with the PCMH coordinator, medical director, chief operating office and clinical nurse manager.
  • Maintain adequate medical supplies and medications for clinical areas by monitoring supplies and ordering supplies as needed. Ensure that exam rooms are fully stocked and prepared for patient care.
  • Serve as first filter to eCW patient portal, answering when appropriate within his or her scope. Forward to appropriate provider when indicated.

  • Full time Temporary to Permanent position, 8AM - 5PM Mon-Fri

(Job #2176) Nurse Practitioner for Van Nuys General Medical practice.

ABOUT THE POSITION

  • This is a W-2 position for long-term employment.
  • Start at 36 hours/week then expand to 40 hours when fully acclimated to the practice to work without the doctor being present.
  • Single practitioner office so this position supports the doctor with preliminary exams and treatments.
  • Provides primary care to patients.
  • Performs initial examinations, including physical exams and patient observations for injuries or illnesses.
  • Coordinates with other healthcare professionals for continuation of treatment.
  • Orders and administers diagnostic tests, reviewing results and communicating test results to patients and their family.
  • Develops a care plan that provides healthcare services that meet the patient’s healthcare needs.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Current clean State of California Medical Practitioner License and Board Certification.
  • Current and unrestricted DEA license. 
  • License to use and prescribe pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment methods.
  • 2-3 years experience in serving patients of all ages.
  • Proficient with minor office-based procedures including, but not limited to, joint injections, minor dermatologic procedures, and basic gynecologic care.
  • Computer proficient with experience using Electronic Medical Record systems.
  • Ability to practice autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to see 20-25 patients per day.

SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION

  • $8,000 sign-on bonus ½ paid at 90 days, ½ at end of calendar year

  • Hourly pay $53-$78/hr depending on license and length of experience

  • Normal Schedule is 4 x 10-hour days 8a-6p, NOT considered overtime as it is the standard schedule.
  • Start at 36 hours/week then expand to 40 hours when fully acclimated to working solo.
  • Benefits include 10 days PTO PLUS 7 paid Holidays, malpractice insurance paid by the practice
