(Job #2514) MEDICAL ASSISTANT / PATIENT CARE COORDINATOR for BEVERLY HILLS PLASTIC SURGERY practice!  If you enjoy working with patients start to finish for their surgical treatments and seeing your patients achieve their surgical goals - we invite you to apply!  

 

ABOUT THE POSITION:

  • Collaborate with a Plastic Surgery team to maintain patient flow into and through the practice 

  • Care for patients both pre and post-op,

  • Assist with phones including appointments, confirmations and the handling of nursing questions

  • Room patients, take vitals, identify patient needs, collect and verify medical history information

  • Update electronic medical records following exams and procedures

  • Maintain exam/treatment rooms ensuring room and supplies are clean and supplies stocked

  • Set up sterile trays for treatments

  • Assist with exams including wound care, suture removal, drain cleaning and removal

  • Prepare and assist with injectables including Botox and filler including application of topical numbing cream when appropriate and preparation for scar injections

  • Walk patients through the paperwork processes, pre-op exams, surgery preparations and post-op preparations and expectations

  • Coordinate surgical paperwork including pre-op exams, clearances, releases, authorizations

  • Order all surgical supplies such as bras, garments, implants, injectables

  • Patient liaison providing information to ensure patients know what to expect, assisting patients to prepare themselves for surgery and have a good post-op recovery plan in place

  • Review all applicable paperwork with patient during their pre-operative visits

  • Take patient before and after photographs saving to patient files

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have at least two years experience in Plastic, Cosmetic or Breast Surgery.

  • Medical Assistant Certification, CPR

  • Experience assisting both Front and Back Office

  • Knowledgeable about the plastic surgery process to guide patients through their paperwork, planning and surgery

  • Ability to be punctual and dependable for M-F 8:30-5pm work hours with occasional overtime as needed for optimum patient care

  • Experienced assisting with stitch removal and post-op plastic surgery wound care

  • Experienced in measuring patients for post-op surgical compression garments

  • Knowledge to assist with maintaining facility credentialing when needed

  • Basic computer skills-Word, Excel and experience with an EMR/EHR system including recording/documenting all patient interactions in electronic system

  • Knowledge of infection control and the ability to ensure a properly cleaned and sanitized patient care area

 

 

SCHEDULE, COMPENSATION, AND BENEFITS

  • Monday to Friday - 8:30a-5p   40 – 45 hours per week

  • Pay: $32.00 - $35.00 per hour depending on experience

JOB DETAILS

  • Sole employee for the doctor in a patient-focused aesthetics and surgery practice

  • Ensure a schedule that maximizes practitioner time without patients feeling rushed

  • Make and confirm appointments, handle phones and greet patients

  • Engage callers and in-office patients with information on the latest anti-aging products and services

  • Collect copays, do insurance verification and pre authorizations

  • Room patients taking vitals and documenting medical history and patient goals

  • Ensure rooms are cleaned and stocked and patient areas are well maintained

  • Schedule surgeries including working with patients on pre-op exams, consents and financial coordination

  • Send bills to the biller

  • This is a PAPER OFFICE so no computer experience required

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • 2+ years’ experience working Front Office in a private medical practice

  • Experience working in some area of aesthetics, surgery or dermatology required

  • Interest in learning about the latest anti-aging products and services (and telling callers and patients about them!) 

  • Ability to arrive on time for work on the scheduled work days

  • Polished and professional communication skills written and spoken

  • Personal initiative to identify what needs to be done, prioritize, make to-do list, adjust as needed to accomplish goals

  • High level of organization to balance tasks for multiple patients ensuring consents, insurance, pre-op exams and other details are handled well in advance of surgery day

 

SCHEDULE, COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

  • 4-day work week - Monday - Thursday 9-5 $30hr.

  • Flexible schedule if needs 3 days

  • $100 towards your health insurance choice

  • 40 hrs Sick per year

  • 1 week vacation after 1 year, then 2 weeks thereafter

JOB DETAILS

  • Scheduling and coordinating multiple cardiac procedures i.e.: Nuclear stress tests, vascular studies, echocardiograms, cardiac CT scans, treadmills, holter monitors, cath lab

  • Taking and handling messages for the doctor

  • Maintaining doctor schedule for surgery and other meetings

  • Add a patient to the EMR system

  • Handle pharmacy call and refills

  • Triage patient needs, coordinating follow-up with doctor

  • Coordinate patient pre-surgical consents, records requests and other miscellaneous documents

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong understanding of medical insurance billing

  • Must be detail-oriented to stay on top of messages and advise doctor of urgent matters and updates on patients

  • Professional communication verbal and written Initiative to reach out to patients, and ensure patients receive a high level of care
